My Experience with Tea
I have been drinking tea for several years now and I have never felt better. The only times I would even drink tea before was when I was sick or had a cold. I kept on hearing how good green tea was for you and all the health benefits that are associated with this drink so I gave it a shot.
I did my research and began my journey. The very first thing I noticed after a couple weeks of drinking tea was that I was losing weight. Yes, you heard that right! Green Tea raises your metabolism, which in turn, may help you shed off some extra pounds. I was astonished! Since then, I have been drinking Green Tea daily and I feel much better then ever before. I feel great, lost some weight, and don't get sick as often as before!
I then ventured into a whole new area of healthy drinks. I discovered Noni Juice, Goji Juice, Acai, Pomegranate, Kombucha, and Mangosteen and Aloe Vera Juice. So whether it's tea or any other of these fantastic elixirs, I make it habit to make them a part of daily my lifestyle to maintain good health.
What Are Free Radicals?
A free radical is an atom or molecule with at least one unpaired electron, making it reactive to other atoms or groups of atoms. If free radicals react with certain chemicals in the body, they may interfere with the ability of cells to function normally
Free radicals may cause cellular damage if they reach high levels. Some experts believe that cell damage caused by free radicals may be a factor in some age-related health conditions. Free radicals are also the causes of many diseases including cancer. As you get older, the level of damage from free radicals in the body may increase, leading to cell damage and function problems.
Antioxidants scavenge the free radicals that the body accumulates as a byproduct of energy production as well as through pollution, tobacco smoke, ultraviolet light and radiation. Antioxidants benefit virtually every organ and body system because them mop up damaging free radicals.
Loose Leaf vs Grocery Tea Bags
Just so everyone knows, loose leaf is the way to go. Yes, you can buy tea bags quickly and easily at your local grocery store, but they are not even close to the quality and polyphenol content that loose leaf contains. Here's why, Tea leaves contain chemicals and essential oils, which are the basis for the delightful flavor of tea. When the tea leaves are broken up, a good amount of the vital flavanoids are lost and the oils evaporate leaving the tea with a dull taste. So I highly recommend Loose Leaf tea over your store bought tea bags.
If you are looking to get the most amount of catechins out of your tea I would recommend Stash Organic Green Tea or Peet's Sencha Japanese Tea.
