The big ultimate question: Tea or coffee? It’s a question we often gets asked when we’re eating somewhere. For me the answer is simple, i love tea and i do not drink coffee. Many people fail to recognize the importance of sleep. Almost everyone is guilty of it. People have a tendency to think that they can continue to push their bodies throughout the day and that they will get by on just a few hours of sleep so that they can get more accomplished. For the ones that are able to get away with this for a small amount of time, they become lulled into a false sense of security and think that they will be able to do this forever. The truth is, it damages your health in every conceivable way when you fail to get the amount of sleep that you need. It is difficult enough when you lead a busy lifestyle to get adequate sleep but when you are tossing and turning all night, it becomes even worse. Sooner or later, you start to pay the price for your lack of sleep from a physical standpoint as well as from an emotional and mental one.
If you are someone that does not get enough sleep, you are probably starting to feel that in everything else that you do. Lack of sleep makes you irritable and it makes it harder to concentrate but it also has an adverse impact on your physical health concerning things that you cannot see. Your blood pressure starts to go up, it becomes harder to digest foods and you even become more prone to things like cancer and diabetes. Before you know it, you start to gain weight and this further exacerbates all the other physical problems that you are already experiencing. If you continue on this cycle, you run the risk of having heart disease and many other chronic issues that can dramatically impact your ability to live a normal life.
Obviously, many people will tell you that the solution is to get more sleep but that is often easier said than done. You already have a lot on your plate but if you can’t get comfortable at night, you won’t be able to fall asleep efficiently and you probably won’t stay asleep through the night. Fortunately, this is the easiest part of the problem to correct. You can try purchasing a different mattress and make sure that you get one that allows you to be comfortable, eliminating painful points of stress on your body. You may still have to work on quieting your mind so that you can sleep through the night, but one thing is certain. If you don’t have a mattress that properly supports your body, you won’t be able to sleep well no matter how relaxed you are otherwise.Continue to read
